VIRGINIA NATIONALS

* NEW* 1902 PB $20 Norfolk, VA (10194) PCGS 62PPQ

Most recent Heritage Auction 2014 Central States show purchase.  By no
means a rare note to locate, but finding one of this impeccable quality is as
difficult as locating a rare charter.  Norfolk is an honest, blue collar city known
for it's Navy roots.  Of course it is one of the marquee ports for that esteemed
branch of the armed forces.

1929 Type 1 $10 Rocky Mount, VA (8984) Fine

This scarce Peoples National Bank specimen is a delight to find in
problem-free status.  Rocky Mount is a fantastic middle-southern Virginia town
that has the pleasure of hosting some of the most historic times in U.S. History.
Small Virginia town nationals are a tough find as it is, Rocky Mount is not
only one of these small towns, but they're slightly more affordable than the rest.

1929 Type 2 $10 - Leesburg, VA (3917) VF

Leesburg nationals have so much going for them.  They're a growing town
that resides outside of the nation's capital and Dulles Int'l Airport.  In addition to its
small town roots, Leesburg is the quintessential colonial town today.
Talk about scarcity, only 4 Type 2 notes exist in the census!

1929 Type 1 $10 - Appalachia, VA (9376) Fine

Acquisition from 2013 Heritage - Long Beach auction.  One of my
favorite charters and very tough to locate as there are no more than
a dozen small size notes in the census.  Appalachia is a small town on the
fringe of the Virginia/W. Virginia border.  It's a pretty town during the fall
with the essence of coal and woody smoke that fills the air.

DELAWARE NATIONALS

1929 Type 2 $5 - Laurel, DE (6726) PCGS VF 30

New acquisition from 2013 Heritage - Long Beach auctions.  Here's
another difficult note to find in VF and above.  The moment I saw this
example up for sale in the most recent Heritage catalog, I knew I just had
to have it.  US Route 13 corridor notes are a fabulous challenge, the only
other note holding up the complete series is Delmar.

1929 Type 1 $20 - Seaford, DE (795) PMG VF 20

Here is a new acquisition from Heritage - Long Beach auctions.  This is
a very pleasing national from the only charter in town.  With the low amount of
Delaware nationals in existence, Seaford is a scarce town to locate if you're
looking outside of the capital city.  A beautiful and quaint town in southern
Delaware, one of my favorite visits.

1929 Type 1 $20 - Dover, DE (1567) VF

This is not a new note by any means, but you can't have one of the
smallest states for nationals without having an example from the capital city.
Small size Dover notes are not rare, but nice problem free examples such
as this can be tough if you're collecting by state.

MARYLAND NATIONALS

*NEW* 1929 Type 1 $10 - Cambridge, MD (2498) VF

Cambridge is one of the beautiful gateway towns into the eastern shore region
of Maryland.  Known for its canneries and history as a farming center, Cambridge
is an up and coming town that once bit a sour taste of poor economic status.
Cambridge notes are increasingly difficult to locate in any auction setting, especially
those of the large sized and large denominations.

1929 Type 1 $20 - Easton, MD (1434) VF

A recent find that I'm just now getting to displaying.  Easton nationals
are probably the easiest "Eastern Shore" towns to find in the open market.
But don't let that fool you, reasonably priced examples are generally a
bear to obtain because this region is so popular and widely collected.

 1902 Plain Back $5 - Denton, MD (2547) PCGS XF40

Here's a new beauty for the collection.  Acquired from Harford Coins in Baltimore in the summer of 2013.
This is a nice quality note with very little holding it down, I found out why it didn't receive a PPQ designation
because of an errant pin hole next to the left charter number.  In any event, this note is available in the
market in both large and small, but high graded and condition sensitive notes of  this ilk can be scarce.

An Introduction Down Memory Lane

Charter 6246 Parksley, VA - added June 2013.  Exceedingly tough note to locate
from the small town of a few hundred people on the eastern shore of Virginia.
Beautiful village nestled on the Delmarva peninsula just an hour north from the
Bay Bridge tunnel.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site.  As of this posting, the site is under construction until I can begin to post my newest National Bank Notes.  As some of you who watch my Youtube videos know, I collect primarily Maryland - Delaware - Virginia notes.  And generally the 1929 small types 1 & 2 (Example Above).  I also collect some of the large nationals, there were some charters that only printed these large sizes (Annapolis is one such example).

I've lived and grown up in the mid-atlantic region for almost 20 years.  It was a very reminiscent time in my life where my family used to go to my dad's beach house in Delaware for the weekend, enjoy the eastern shore of Maryland during the spring time bloom, and drive through the picturesque Virginia sky line in the Blue Ridge mountains.  Please enjoy the trip through time as I share my collection with you.

And please, if anyone of my regular guests know of folks who own these notes and would be willing to listen to an offer, please contact me via email.  Towns in blue have been located and added to my personal collection.  I'm currently seeking the following towns/charters:

Easton, MD - Just added $10 Small Type 1 but looking for additional examples
